Channing hit .429 this week, going 6-for-14 with five runs scored with three homeruns and 10 runs driven in. His slugging percentage was 1.071 and his on base percentage was .556. Of the 29 runs Saint Mary's scored this week, Channing was responsible for 15 of them.
Channing opened up the week going 2-for-3 scoring two runs and driving in a run against UC Davis. Channing made his mark in the weekend series against first place LMU however, breaking the Saint Mary's single season homerun record, on Saturday, blasting his 16th homerun of the season in the bottom of the second. The homerun was a grand slam that put the Gaels in the lead for good. He finished the day going 2-for-3 with a run scored and six RBI, it was his third 5+ RBI game of the season.
Channing finished off the weekend in dramatic fashion. In the rubber-match versus the Lions Channing went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Channing got things started for the Gaels hitting his 17th homerun of the season, a two-run bomb in the bottom of the first. In the bottom of the eighth he struck again clubbing a solo homerun over the left field fence which proved to be the game winner
