For all his Zag bias, Katz knows the WCC better than any other national analyst. I'm thinking that if Patty were staying in we'd have heard a final announcement today. The deadline to withdraw is Monday, the 15th, but when: at midnight that day? Isn't it logical that an announcement would come on the Friday before such a momentous deadline? Things are definitely getting interesting.

If he had his 1st round draft promise he would have hired an agent and put it all to rest. And I think DP would be one of the first people to know since he's known Patty and his family for a long time, he wouldnt have made the comment he had to Katz if Patty had the guarentee for a contract, maybe Im just clutching at straws and hoping to see him back for the Gaels 09/10. After a disappointing performance on Day 1, he really turned it on at the camp all-star game Sunday evening, pouring in 30 points in 34 minutes of play. Mills looked a lot like he did against Team USA in the Olympics, using his terrific speed to fly up and down the court -- no one at the camp could stay in front of him. An excellent penetrator, he got to the line a camp-high 13 times. His jump shot was a bit streaky and he committed too many turnovers, but there's no question Mills has the speed, athleticism and craftiness to give defenses headaches. Most importantly, Mills showed terrific leadership qualities on the floor. His teammates and coaches loved him for his infectious energy and enthusiasm. While he sometimes got caught over-dribbling, he was a solid floor leader when his head was up. I'm not sure exactly how much Mills moved the needle on his draft stock, but a number of NBA GMs I spoke with walked away impressed. I reckon he has stuck it out this far because he believes that he should be there in the first, that he belongs there. There's just so many mixed reports about him from scouts and GMs atm, from the unquestionable second-rounder, to being ranked above Lawson and Collison. It seems like he just has too much left to work on though: finishing around the basket, shot selection/ %, running a team in the halfcourt, playmaking.

Again, this is just part of the BS that one has to sift through... The scouts and GMs don't want to tip their hands. Agents are trying to pump up their guys while devaluing the other guy. You can't trust any of the info that goes through the media because it's all part of the draft game. My guess is there's a team that likes him that has had almost no media connection to him, probably a team that has a PG that is looking to draft a guy for the future.

Daye said Sunday night that he will make the decision right before Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline. Wake Forest coach Dino Guadio spent Sunday night meeting with Jeff Teague and his family as Teague decides whether to stay in the draft or go back to school. According to a source connected with agent Mike Conley Sr., Teague hadn't signed with Conley Sr., the advisor who has been helping him in the process, as of Sunday afternoon. Maryland's Greivis Vasquez is expected to make his decision known Monday. So, too, is Saint Mary's Paty Mills, who was scheduled to have a workout Monday morning. Notre Dame's Luke Harangody, Kentucky's Jodie Meeks and Texas A&M's Chinemelu Elonu will push the Monday deadline as well. So within the next 24hours we will know for certain if Patty's gone.

Guess Patty is not planning a news conference to announce his decision as he did when entering the draft. Since he doesn't have to do anything to stay in, wonder if the lack of preparation means he plans to do just that? Quietly let the 5 p.m. deadline pass without saying anything, thus ending the suspense and his college career. We'll soon know.
