As Dicky V just said, these mid-second rounders are going to be in the struggle for their basketball lives over the next several years. Clearly, either Aaron
Goodwin did Mills a horrific disservice or Mills realized the magnitude of the situation but had no where to return to (after mailing it in last semester and
acting like a NBA sure-fire).

just when i thought it could not get worse... cleveland passes on him again. 47th pick and counting...

Wow, so Goodwin was actually steering him back to school!
There must be more to this decision, ie, Patty wasn't going to be eligible with school, just plain didn't want to come back, etc. |

Huge Mistake? | ||

I hope Patty proves them all wrong.... and lights up the NBA for a very long time.... but I gotta say his decision looks like a HUGE mistake! It is clear he
should have come back and stayed one more year. If he slips further he might be playing in the D league next year where arenas are not filled with 3500
adoring fans cheering your every move and basket.
At this point we are at pick number 49.... it looks as though Patty might not get drafted even in the second round... though I hope I am wrong. Some adviser(s) failed to do their homework.... There is simply no excuse for advising Patty to stay in this draft with 2 years of eligibility left given how far he has fallen. Just my opinion. GO GAELS! Brisbin 84' |

#51... AJ Price from UConn. Looks like Pat may enjoy Europe better and make money and then come back.

Jesus. At this rate, Diamon Simpson is going to get picked ahead of him.

what's with all of the trading for cash? I almost never watch the draft. Is this common? I'm pretty sure Austin Daye got traded for a carton of
marlboros and a ball boy.

cash is not uncommon but there is an unusual amount of trading cash this year. must be the economy.

What a waste. Patrick goes to a team that already has Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayless and Sergio Rodriguez at point guard. He will be in D-League or Europe next
year instead of leading SMC to NCAA glory. Who the hell guided him, what were they telling him, what was he thinking?

You knew Patrick was in big trouble when Nando de Colo went before him. Nando de effing Colo, for criminy sake.

What a shame. But if he's really good enough he'll make his way.

portland roster
http://www.nba.com/blazers/roster/ Just because he was drafted does not mean he'll opt to the NBA or the d-league. I say he goes to Europe. Too early for me to speculate on Patty's statements about getting assurances on first round or return to Moraga, and what actually transpired tonight. G'd night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

That was depressing to watch. I feel sorry for Patty.
If you noticed, all those cash deals seemed to involve Houston. |

I think he has a shot to make the team. He has two PGs in front of him and I definitely believe he is better than Blake. Blake is solid but not flashy. With
Patty taking fewer shots, and he would on this team, his percentage will go up. But it will be tough considering the roster.
Although, it is the Blazers... Patty might be traded. |

First off, Congratulations to Patrick for the chance to live his dream. I am not an NBA fan, but can anyone tell me what kind of money his draft pick amounts
to? I beleive he will prove himeself, and end up being a great "sleeper pick" for the Blazers. (What has Morrison done in the NBA?)
PS (and DIRT...man I love your comments, style. You are classic. Keep them coming) |
