Mj,

It was a well played game, and close all the way.  13 ties and 17 lead changes over the course of the game.  7 to's for GW, 10 for Richmond, so that gives you an idea as to how well it was played.  We had 26 to's against Duquesne a couple of games ago, so much improved on that front. Tied 65-65 with a minute to go, but the Colonials just couldn't close it out, and lost 69-65.  Difference was we didn't shoot it very well in the second half.  I will say that the A10 is about as balanced as I've seen it in several years, with 8 teams with .500 conference records or better.  I think that balance, unfortunately, probably gives us fewer NCAA bids than we've gotten in some past tournaments, I'd say 2 is the right number, but maybe 3.  Teams just keep beating up on each other.  Xavier, Duquesne, Temple and Richmond have the best chance at bids, but we won't get 4.  It depends on the remander of the conference season and the conference tournament in Atlantic City as to which of those four get our 2-3 bids, barring a miraculous GW run!!!!

Richmond has Geriot, Kevin Anderson, Kevin Smith, Harper, and Martel back as guys you might remember from last year's team.  Their front line of Geriot, Smith and Harper scored 49 of their 69 last night.  Kevin Anderson was sort of quiet with 9 points, although he killed us from deep, as he was 3-4 from behind the arc.  He also had 5 assists. He's very solid and having another great year, averaging 16 ppg and almost 4 assists per game. Doesn't turn it over much either.  Played all 40 minutes last night.  Remind you of anyone?
