Based on what I've read over the last week or so, even if we offered to pay for the bandwith, HD cameras, and employee the people that would run it, the athletic department would say "no."

all the bashing of the athletic department is getting kind of old.  Last year they started Gaels Live, which included post-game interviews with Bennett, etc - There are also a number of interviews each week- one on one interviews with players, previews, etc.  They aren't too hard to find on the website and it has been a great addition

It seems way too many times that many on this board forget that the school sponsors 13 other varsity sports besides Men's Basketball - and 6 or 7 of them have made the NCAA tournament under Orr and the athletic department's watch.  That's not lucky, that's being very good across the board, student-athletes, coaches AND administration.  For those of us that been around a while, (and info for those that haven't)- we remember how poorly ALL of our teams have performed in the post WWII era.  We went through a 50 year run and had teams make the NCAA championships maybe 5-6 times total?  Yes, cutting football has some to do with this, but the athletic department has done a great job of re-allocating those funds and turning our entire athletic program into a proud one.  They are doing A LOT of stuff right.

In addition, give them credit for continuing to do the best they can to upgrade McKeon - new lobby, new chairback seats downstairs, new padded seats upstairs, new locker rooms and offices for the two basketball programs and volleyball, etc.  3-4 years ago they also introduced a great new logo/brand identity system - one that I (and everyone of my friends/classmates) am very proud of.    And let's not forget that they have been able to keep (any more importantly pay) coaches like Randy Bennett, Rob Browning, Adam Cooper, Lisa Alipaz... they're not working for free.  Everything I have described above takes resources and I am very happy with the direction they have taken and they way they have allocated them.  The experience is first and foremost about the students and the student athletes - as alums and fans, we should enjoy this great ride that we have been on the past 6-7 years.

Lastly - and this is the only "excuse" I am going to give for them - I was told last week that they have still not found a replacement for the former Marketing Director (Mike Samuels), so they have been operating a key person down for a few months.
