While our board is independent (thanks to the donations of a few) and does not associate itself with scout or rivals, it's not that hard to find us through a few Google search alternatives. This includes prospective student-athletes, their parents and family members, the NCAA, college basketball fans, opponent's fans, etc. Thus, people read this board even if they don't post. Having seen other sport chat boards, I opine that we are more respectful in our discourse and use good judgment than most.
The above link is really required reading to remind us that EVERYONE is watching us and that we must use good judgment concerning discussion of certain topics. The annonimity of posters (some more than others who don't take ownership of their posts) give some the belief they have the unfettered right to flame, bash and trash others or discuss topics that invade a person's zone of privacy. The Wisconsin situation must be studied. It's another reason why coaches don't like the boards. We should learn from others mistakes and poor judgment so that we can maintain our standards. It's a cultural thing and it's up to all of us to think before we hit the post button.
I further remind everyone of the Booster Compliance http://godisagael.yuku.com/topic/1886 post.
