The SMC men's soccer team either tied or lost to Stanford last night depending on which version you subscribe to. The game was an 0-0 tie at the end of
regulation, and that is the version being carried on a scroll atop the SMC Gaels Web page (in keeping with the overall mediocrity of this site there is no
accompanying story). However, the teams agreed to play an overtime period and Stanford scored a goal to win 1-0 according to their Web site. Since it was an
exhibition game it really doesn't matter, but one wonders what kind of barometer of the upcoming season this is: is Stanford any good? Is a tie or a 1-0
overtime loss something to be proud of or something to worry about?
