If you asked which was more likely to happen: (a) Gael Men beat GU by over 20 or (b) the Gael Women beat GU on the road? Well what about the odds of both happening? Amazing! Best win since the Gaels beat Texas in the first round of the NCAA.

Zags last loss in conference was in 2009. They had beaten the Gaels 17 straight times.

Bleeding Red and Blue

Let's all make sure to be there on Satuday at their homecoming. Incredible win over the WCC's most dominant team. Combined with the men's win on Thursday and the 49ers incredible win this afternoon, this has been the greatest sports week of my life. I'm too old to expect another one as satisfying in my remaining lifetime.

I was at the game, it was a doozy, let me tell you. Your women put on a clinic on how to suck the air out of the ball with their possession and incredible patience. They almost let it slip away, but managed to hold on and defend our best 3pt shooter at the end and forced our 5 to put up a deep 3 as the buzzer expired.

Was a great victory and will only make the conference better.

Your devotion to women's hoops at SMC is unassailable, and I can understand the palpitations caused by last weekend. But don't write off the future of sports thrills. Consider this scenario: the 49ers win the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 5 and the Gaels (men) defeat the Zags on Thursday, Feb. 9 to clinch the WCC title. That stretches the thrills over four days instead of packing 'em into one incredible weekend, but it's something worth living for, right? Stay with us, Webby!

Well,
If you were the conference commisioner you could not ask for anything better than this. Almost half way through league and their is a virtual 4 way tie for first with San DIego/SMC/BYU and Gon with one loss each. The good news is San Diego and BYU still need to play the ZAGS twice. Should be a great tournament in Vegas. We have our work cut out for us going forward.
