Lunardi has both SMC and GU playing in Salt Lake City. While there's no reason to invest much in what Bracketology has to say about locations, particularly this early, that would be an interesting arrangement. We might get a little boost in home-court advantage from the GU fans (and also local BYU fans) who might be there and know our team very well. Of course, some might actively root against us because their rivalry instincts override their sense of league brotherhood - or common sense (every NCAA win by a WCC team is revenue for us all). But I would think many would root for their fellow WCC brethren once the league is done, and we would be the primary beneficiaries in that scenario. If we couldn't be close to the bay area in Sacramento or San Jose, being in Salt Lake (or at least in the same location as GU) would be a pretty good consolation prize.

FYI - at the NCAA metrics meeting, Pomeroy said himself that his rankings should not be used as part of selection process (1/2)
...because they do not measure what the committee is trying to reward...results against a strong schedule. (2/2).
